In other Google Home news, we reported in recent days that the new Continuous Conversations feature is now also available for use with Google Home speakers. This announcement comes in tandem with Google saying the Google Home and Google Home Mini are now available in Mexico, following a launch in Spain. Additionally, as part of today’s news all three Google speakers now can understand you in Spanish.
Google announced earlier this year that it would be adding 22 new languages to Assistant by the end of 2018, though it isn’t clear how many of those will immediately come to the Home. The company also plans to launch multilingual support so that you can speak multiple languages to Assistant without going into the settings and changing it every time. That’s supposed to launch later this year, starting with English, German, and French. To change your language settings on Google Home, simply open up the Google Home app on your connected smartphone, navigate to “More Settings,” and find your Home speaker in the “Devices” section. Under that, there should be an option to change “Assistant language,” with support for these new options listed.
